海研五號海洋研究船昨日(10日)下午在行經澎湖龍門外海時疑似觸礁，導致右舷船艙進水沉船，失去動力求救，澎湖海巡獲報即派3艘艦艇救援，至今（11）日凌晨，全船45人已全數救起，其中 7人送澎湖醫院，有2人到院前已無生命跡象。

根據《中國時報》報導，海研五號是於9日出海為執行環保署委辦計畫，預計前往彭佳嶼、台灣北部海域進行8天探測作業，但因海況不佳，所以準備提早返航回安平港，沒想到航經澎湖海域時擱淺，根據氣象局觀測資料顯示，當時澎湖長浪高達2.5公尺，海況十分的差。

海研五號此次出海主要是探測海域大氣污染物監測及傳輸模擬先導計畫，而探測團隊則是由中研院、台灣檢驗科技、國研院颱洪中心、海洋大學、陽明大學、雲科大及成功大學所組成。

海研五號也曾於去年5、6月中，在海軍及海巡艦艇的戒護下，航行至南沙太平島，任務中不僅首次施放南沙第一顆氣象浮標，更完成了深度達4330公尺，相當於9座101大樓高度的探測，一舉刷新南海史上最深探測紀錄。
