南蘇丹總統基爾(Salva Kiir)和叛軍領袖馬查爾(Riek Machar)，1日晚間在衣索比亞首都阿迪斯阿貝巴(Addis Ababa)簽署一項協議，同意終結超過13個月的內戰。

2名參與會談的非洲外交官告訴路透社，根據這項協議，基爾在新政府中仍將擔任南蘇丹總統一職，而馬查爾則將被指派為副總統。不過，為了讓涉入的談判各方考慮這項權力分享協議，這項會談將暫停直到2月中旬。

南蘇丹是在2013年12月爆發政變，前副總統馬查爾的部隊企圖推翻基爾政權。失敗後，開始流亡全國，雙方衝突不斷，展開報復性大屠殺，將國家推向內戰，造成約150萬人流離失所。
