國軍部隊「下基地」改為一年半一次

國軍地面部隊固定要「下基地」，以練習平常在駐防地無法進行的科目，例如實彈射擊等。過去每年下基地一次，每次為期10周，近年由於人口稠密化，能夠實施實彈射擊的基地逐漸減少，同時國軍轉型募兵，士兵的役期由一年增加到四年，因此國防部決定，將基地訓練改為每一年半一次，但每次的訓期增長為13周，以強化訓練難度。

國防部表示，基地訓練以營或連為單位，實施實兵對抗演練；在「期末鑑測」時，必須實施晝夜連貫訓練，以及夜間實彈射擊訓練。

至於下基地之外，平日部隊在駐地的訓練，從今年起要增加輕兵器射擊、手榴彈投擲、刺槍術、綜合格鬥、游泳等科目。
