不少女學生對數學不在行，也有人認為數學是男性的天下，不過德國一位女性數學家埃米˙諾特(Emmy Noether)則被愛因斯坦稱為「數學史上最重要的女人」今天的Doodle野放上漫畫版的諾特來紀念她的133週年誕辰。

維基百科提到，在數學領域，她在不變量理論和非交換代數上貢獻卓著；物理上，她導出諾特定理，並因此出現「守恆定律」一詞。現今不少研究都是以她的成果為基礎。

雖然諾特在1907年獲得博士學位，大學卻因她是女性而拒絕她進入學校教書，在其他學者的支持與爭取後才獲得教職。
