高雄氣爆後，各界對社會安全議題更加關注，台達電斥資新台幣1500萬元，自行組裝即時毒性化學物質檢測車，3分鐘即可判讀。

台達基金會執行長郭珊珊表示，高雄氣爆後，台達基金會董事長鄭崇華看到災區損傷，尤其是第一線執勤人員的傷亡，非常不忍。事件發生後，團隊迅速與環保署接觸，以最快的速度，在2個月內完成評估、進口、採購及組裝流程，完成這台能發揮行動性及具高偵測敏感度的監測車。

車體引進最新設備，對高雄氣爆外洩的丙烯等氣體，判讀時間可從過去的1小時大幅減少至3分鐘內，讓前線人員可立即掌握氣體類別做出處置。

這套設備含有最先進且可即時檢測的攜帶式飛行時間質譜儀（TOFMS）、氣體用手提式傅立葉轉換紅外光譜分析儀（FTIR）及即時軟式化學離子化質子轉移反應飛行時間質譜儀（SCI-PTR-TOFMS）各1台；另外也包含可用來偵測可燃性易爆及毒性氣體的觸媒燃燒式偵測器（2台）與毒性氣體偵測器（1台），所有的儀器設備都放在監測車上，可以機動性地執行任務。(中央社)
