中信兄弟鄭凱文27日在仁川亞運棒球賽對日本之戰，投的精采，是中華隊10比4擊敗日本隊、打進金牌戰的大功臣；兄弟總教練謝長亨也為鄭凱文的好表現感到開心，現在草總想的是要如何拿到下半季冠軍，草總表示「現在的構想是鄭凱文與寇迪各投2場比賽」。

27日的中日戰，兄弟在天母球場有比賽，草總無法全程觀看，但他還是很關心，草總認為鄭凱文維持了平常的水準，而且經過這一戰，讓草總更安心，因為接下來要跟義大犀牛的大決戰，相信鄭凱文會有稱職的表現。

兄弟未來有5場補賽，分別是9月30日、10月2日、5日、8日在澄清湖球場與犀牛連打4場，這4戰將是決定下半季冠軍誰屬的關鍵戰役，最後則是10月10日在天母對統一獅補賽。

以目前的狀況看，兄弟洋投寇迪相當穩定，因此將會與鄭凱文各先發2場，草總說「鄭凱文的狀況要等他回台之後再觀察」，草總規劃，鄭凱文不是投9月30日的第1戰，就是投10月2日的第2戰。
