（中央社日內瓦27日綜合外電報導）世界衛生組織（WHO）今天公布的最新伊波拉疫情統計顯示，全球歷來最嚴重伊波拉疫情在西非造成超過6500人感染，其中將近半數的逾3000人死亡。

WHO的最新疫情更新顯示，截至9月23日為止，西非五國總共有6574人感染伊波拉病毒，其中3091人死亡。

WHO於25日公布的截至9月21日的伊波拉疫情顯示，包括幾內亞、賴比瑞亞、獅子山共和國、奈及利亞與塞內加爾等5國，累計有6263人感染伊波拉病毒，其中2917人死亡。

WHO一再強調指出，統計數據改變並非意味於更新統計期間，已有人不治或遭到感染，而是反映出在伊波拉蔓延肆虐之際，世衛組織的統計過時。(中央社)
