（路透新德里8日電）即使在被認為公職是超級鐵飯碗的印度，還是有公務員會被解僱。

中央公共事務部行政工程師韋瑪（A.K. Verma）遭到開除，因為他上回現身工作竟是在1990年12月。印度政府今天發表聲明指出：「韋瑪不斷尋求延長請假，未獲批准，但他不甩命令。」政府表示，1992年調查發現韋瑪有意曠職，但22年後且經過內閣部長介入後，才將他開除。印度勞工法是世界銀行眼中約束最多的勞工法，除了犯下刑事犯罪，要以任何理由解僱員工變得困難重重。中央社（翻譯）
