Selina和任爸父女情深，日前他上超視《小宇宙33號》，女兒回憶火吻事件時，父親無微不至照顧，眼淚瞬間決堤，任爸眼眶、鼻頭泛紅忍住淚水，還給女兒大大擁抱，哽咽說：「有人問我父親要做什麼？我想上山看我爸爸，我55歲退休陪父親遊山玩水，有機會可以跟我父親擁抱幾次，現在我就擁抱我的女兒。」

Selina曾透露自小任爸管教嚴格，她常挑戰他底線，任爸指出兩人關係一度緊張像敵對，彼此相處如在防賊。有次晚上10點多他一氣之下把Selina趕出門，以為她會乖乖在門外等他軟化，不料半小時後打開門，人早不見蹤影，他嚇得騎車到處找，發現她在便利商店和同學講電話，臉上全是笑容，當下氣得再罵一頓。

為了避免父女關係更疏遠，Selina上高中後，任爸只要發怒情緒上來，都會自己出門獨處消氣，有次還騎了3小時的車奔到蘇澳，「一邊看風景、一邊騎車，想說為何要為這些小事跟女兒生氣，之後我們關係才有了改善。」

Selina受傷期間，任爸曾向任媽交代，「我們回家抱頭痛哭都沒關係，千萬不要在女兒面前掉淚。」女兒情緒曾失落近崩潰，當父親的他照單全收、細心照料，每天按三餐親手切柳丁，讓她補充維他命。Selina說：「一個大男人能做到這樣，真的很了不起，是天下最偉大的父愛。」
